The Alliance for Peace and Development Nepal (APDN) is purely apolitical and not-for-profit organization founded in 2005 and formally registered with the District Administration Office (DAO), Kathmandu in 2008 A.D. APDN, in its initial years served as a professional forum for conducting academic and pragmatic discourses among the educated youth, younger generation of politicians and professionals. Its founder-members in recent years decided to take up additional task of engaging the organization in pro-active undertakings as well. Such initiation led to ushering peace and development scholars in the areas of peace, development and democratization in Nepal alike with support and cooperation of senior and younger generation of political leaders belonging to major political parties. Besides, the organization also has received support of subject matter experts and leading personalities of civil society movement in Nepal.
