The APDN has set clear ideas to run upcoming schedule for the next 5 years. The present Nepali socio-economic and political scenario is undergoing in transition phase. The constitution making process has to be focused to incorporate people’s aspirations in the new constitution. People’s basic needs, human rights and issues of fundamental freedom must be incorporated in the new constitution so that people’s major concerns; security, identity, recognition, self-rule and agenda of livelihood could be addressed. In the current peace and constitution making process, appropriate federal model and forms of governance should be dealt properly. Thus, for the next five years APDN will be working in the following areas:

1.  APDN as a bridge promoting two way communications between politicians, policy makers, civil society, local leaders and general people.

2.  Conducing capacity building programs on peace building, conflict management, security, provincial governance and development planning with regular follow-up.

3.  Helping to create effective democratic institutions and to enhance social capital through the management of social, economic, geographical and political diversity  in the country.

4.  Conducting thematic research on contemporary issues of security, peace, federal economic structure, diversity management, and local governance framework

5.  Carry-out necessary initiatives for socio-economic and structural transformation.
