Following organization’s 5 years master plan, we have set and planned to accomplish some activities as follows:
Research projects:
1. APDN will be conducting some research projects on the issues of federalism, security and appropriate development model considering country’s geography and socio-cultural diversity.
Workshop/seminars:
2. APDN will be working in the areas of constituent making support program where diverse group of community people, identity based groups, politicians from top to bottom level, CSOs, media and other stakeholders will be engaged in such constitution making process.
3. APDN will be launching capacity building program on the issue of conflict transformation and peace building for members of civil society organizations, media people and younger politicians. These programs will be developed for regional and district level.
4. APDN will be launching some series of discourse on federal model, federalization of security institutions, federalization of political parties, country’s security sector transformation and so on.
Media campaign:
Since the restoration of democracy in 1990 Nepal has made a revolution in Information and Technology. The outreach of media has flourished across the nation to strengthen the democratic values. The dozens of community FM stations in the rural areas, the hundreds of newspapers and the dozens of television stations are facilitating the people. The right to information is succeeded because of open and favorable democratic environment. Nepal’s media has been playing pivot role in country’s Peace, Conflict Transformation, Development and Democracy building process known as a fourth wing of the state .
Despite expressing the rhetoric, the mainstream politics has not been able to address the rural areas. The excluded communities and the minorities could never get their life changed. Though, in the later time the flood of community FM stations in rural areas made changed the people by running interactive programs and the Kathmandu centered politics.
APDN thus hopes in Media therefore to teach the commoners and for disseminating message for change to strengthen democracy and peaceful society. Therefore,
5. APDN will be launching strong media campaign to disseminate precise information to the people across the country.
